MARBLE - LETTERING
I have been working with stone and marble for a long time now. I particularly enjoy the discipline of lettering and have an abiding admiration for Eric Gill, the acknowledged master of that craft.

I have been a professional sculptor since 1997, working in stone and marble. I particularly like lettering. I was trained initially in the UK working in stone and then went to Italy where I learnt the skills and techniques of marble sculpture from artists and craftsmen in Rome.
Artists Statement
I love working with marble because of its texture and the potential of its many veins and colours. Although many of my pieces are abstractions, they have their origins in natural forms. They are domestic in scale and personality, designed not to shock but to please, to be nice to live with. I want people to handle them, to look closely and to be reminded of hidden things in the world around them.
Curriculum Vitae
I then worked full-time at the Bath Artists Studios in Bath for six years and recently moved to Edinburgh where I am working at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshops.
I exhibit regularly at The Royal West of England Academy in Bristol and more recently at the RSA in Edinburgh. I have exhibited in a variety of private galleries in the UK. I have permanent exhibitions in both Bath Abbey and Wells Cathedral. I was selected for the Aesthetica Creative Works Annual 2012 as one of the 75 creative artists from across the world.
