The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 opens this week in London, and for the first time it is being held in September rather than in May. This is a good opportunity to think about re-designing your garden and maybe include a garden sculpture.

THE USE OF SCULPTURE IN GARDENS AND OUTDOOR SPACES
Sculpture is often used as a focal point in a garden. It is also used to lead you to other parts of the hidden garden along paths and areas tucked under trees or walls. A garden sculpture or relief is like a piece of art in a gallery with the surroundings acting as a backdrop to the work.
When deciding on a piece of sculpture for the garden, you will need to think about the size, shape, colour and texture of the work. Stone and Marble are particularly good for sculpture in the garden as the materials are durable and blend in well with nature.
Before placing a sculpture in a garden, you will also need to think about light, space and the surrounding landscape. Water and lighting also interact well with sculpture creating an illusion and a more complex and enchanting environment. Some of the most popular outdoor sculpture reflect nature, abstract forms and human heads or figures.
Simon Burns-Cox creates beautiful and bespoke handcrafted Marble and Stone Exterior Garden Sculpture for all types of Garden and Outdoor Space. He is based in Edinburgh, Scotland but works throughout the UK and overseas.
The garden sculptures are made in a wide range of contemporary designs and come in all dimensions. They are handcrafted and highly polished by hand with the use of hand tools and modern machinery and technologies. Made to order with a four to six week delivery timescale. Bespoke commissions are also available where the client is able to create their own design.
If you would like to purchase or commission an exterior garden sculpture, please contact Simon Burns-Cox who will be happy to discuss your requirements.
For a bespoke commission, there is a fixed price and payment is required in advance before the work commences. If a sculpture needs to be installed, it will be securely fixed in position, and the aftercare and maintenance of the work will be discussed with the client.
