Why are bespoke Headstones special ?
Our headstones are special because they are handcarved and unique. Each headstone we make is bespoke and therefore different from any other memorial.
At the start of the process, there is a close collaboration with the client and you are encouraged to visit the workshop to discuss your requirements with me. We will discuss the life of the deceased and what sort of headstone you are looking for. We will look at different examples and materials and discuss your ideas and inspiration. You will be involved in the process throughout from the design and drawings, to the wording and reliefs to the choice of stone.
Contemporary headstones are modern but timeless. They are personal and meaningful, unique and environmentally friendly. I do not make headstones in polished granite or marble but prefer to use stone which is more in tune with nature such as Portland Limestone, Purbeck or Slate. The reliefs reflect the natural world using flowers, trees and birds. The stone will weather over time giving it a more natural look which will blend into its surroundings.
